The analysis is differentiated according to region, vehicle types, and various other requirements. The results will also be of use within the context of competition assessment.

SCI Verkehr supported a leading European railway company in the commercial valuation of a target in the Eastern European rail freight sector. The aim was to analyse the appeal of the market as well as strategic opportunities in order to issue recommendations for the client. The valuation was made on the basis of existing database systems as well as in close exchange with market players.

On behalf of an Asiatic technology concern SCI Verkehr made an analysis of the railway technology market in Russia. Thereby different possibilities for a market entry were evaluated and transferred into a strategic roadmap. This roadmap contents not only adequate products and strategies for the market entry but also recommendations, which partner and which strategy are the best for a sustainable market entry in Russia and the neighboring CIS-countries.

To support internal planning processes of an international supply company, SCI Verkehr provided data concerning the bus acquisition of 24 countries around the world. The analysis encompassed bus manufacturers, operators' current vehicle fleets, as well as orders. Additionally, the delivery and the country of origin were determined.

SCI Verkehr delivers upcoming LRV tenders in selected European markets to an international consultancy firm. All projects are systematically registered and evaluated in the SCI database.
Customer: Private railway operator
SCI Verkehr was commissioned by a private rail transport operator to assess the future potential for Open Access transport in various European markets. For this purpose, transport market and infrastructure development, the competitive situation and regulation were analysed. In addition, SCI Verkehr assessed the market value of passenger coaches according to the cost approach based on IVS 2020.

SCI Verkehr draws up a residual value appraisal on hybrid locomotives, taking into consideration current demand as well as competitive products available on the market.

On behalf of a large rolling stock financing company, SCI Verkehr develops a cost-based valuation tool for different rolling stock types. SCI Verkehr determines different value progressions and input parameters and develops a special value determination method, which considers individual revision cycles.
Customer: European freight wagon lessor
On behalf of a European leasing company, SCI Verkehr carried out an annual valuation update for a fleet of freight wagons. The market value of the fleet was determined by using the cost-based RC and income-based DCF valuation methods in accordance with IVS 2022 and takes into account the results of a supply and demand analysis of the freight wagons.

Since the foundation of the LOG-IT Club e.V. in November 2002, SCI Verkehr has conducted the business of the association. This includes the support of the association committees, account management, budgetary control and acceptance of new members.
Customer: Allianz pro Schiene e.V.
SCI Verkehr developed a method for considering environmental criteria when valuating rolling stock. This is especially important for credit providers for the purpose of performing risk assessments when financing rolling stock. The method was developed within the scope of a project of the Federal Ministry of the Environment for Allianz pro Schiene e.V. in cooperation with HSH Nordbank and IZT in Berlin.

Comparison of specific cost types to those of other commuter rail systems in Germany by means of defined, meaningful benchmarks. Identification of cost reduction potentials, possible ways ans implications of their realisation. Support to the client in the design of the transport service contract. Coordination of a joint negotiation strategy and participation in the trials. Survey of arguments and recommendations to the client.

On behalf of a supplier of sub-systems, SCI Verkehr has benchmarked different production methods and construction materials for a component. Especially the comparison between railway technology and other mobile applications is supposed to illustrate adaptation possibilities of solutions from other areas.

On behalf of a railway transport company, SCI Verkehr compiled an independent assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of various vehicle options in connection with a local transport tender. The realistic consideration of the potential operation of new and/or second-hand vehicles played an important role in this evaluation.
Customer: Leading railway transport company
A leading railway company in Europe is planning to build a steel logistics centre in Germany. In a preliminary study, SCI Verkehr will develop key aspects and will identify customers and markets for this centre.

The European liberalisation of railway traffic allows the utilisation of the infrastructure by private railway transportation enterprises also across national borders. However, as opposed to the state railways, the regional railways cannot make use of the simplified common shipping procedure but are subject to the regulating procedures of the common / community shipping procedure. With this report a recommendation was developed for procedural management under the existing conditions.
