SCI Verkehr supports an infrastructure investor in the due diligence (out-side-in phase) on a freight car leasing company. A financial model is developed and possible development paths of the target company in the future are described.
Customer: International leading company in rail freight transport
SCI Verkehr supported a leading European rail freight transport company in central restructuring processes. For this purpose, SCI Verkehr developed own and analysed existing market expectations. At the same time, benchmarks regarding the entrepreneurial organisation of production and sales units were been developed. SCI Verkehr prepared, accompanied and evaluated the processes for implementing the restructuring.

A German municipality is in possession of extensive track facilities at a local industrial area (industrial main track). This infrastructure has not been used for freight services for many years. In the meantime, an investment backlog has arisen, and the track systems are currently not usable. In order to support a council decision on further action, SCI Verkehr is to examine the prospects of the industrial main track.

SCI Verkehr compiles a structured overview of the market volumes of the global rolling stock market for a technology company. The focus is on current delivery figures and the forecast development of deliveries in the future.
Customer: component manufacturer
On behalf of a component manufacturer, SCI Verkehr built up a database of rail vehicle fleets in Africa and South America for selected vehicle types. In combination with other IT systems of the customer, the fleet database was used primarily in the after-sales area for the spare parts business and the identification of potentials in the refurbishment of vehicles.

On behalf of an Asian manufacturer, SCI Verkehr analysed the competitor landscape in the worldwide market for door systems of rolling stock.
Customer: Financial investor
On behalf of a financial investor, SCI Verkehr analysed the future market potential of rail vehicle leasing. The market situation on specific rail corridors as well as the competitive position of leasing companies were surveyed.
Customer: Leasing company
For refinancing a rolling stock portfolio, SCI Verkehr calculated the Net Present Value (NPV). For this purpose, the individual assets in the portfolio were evaluated and the aimed leasing rates were forecast. Furthermore, SCI Verkehr carried out a review of the market-related assumptions of the refinancing prospects.

SCI Verkehr supported the sales process of a rail vehicle leasing company, and prepared a comprehensive market and valuation report. For this purpose, SCI Verkehr forecasted the development of future transport markets and the demand for rail vehicle leasing. In addition, the DCF valuation method was applied.
Customer: Allianz pro Schiene
Working for Allianz pro Schiene and in co-operation with the IFEU institute in Heidelberg, SCI Verkehr is preparing the evaluation parameters for an "environmental comparison - rail transport" and their transformation to a transparent and (in view of different framework conditions) just measuring system. It is intended for use as tool for assessing railway transport companies and their rail vehicles in terms of environmental compatibility and under a public competition also as a marketing tool in favor of rail-bound transport.

Supporting management in implementing a mobility cluster in Northern Hesse. Expert consultation for the cluster manager and concept preparation of company forums and specialist events in the field of rail industry and logistics. Development of projects and strategic initiatives.

SCI Verkehr prepares a cost driver analysis for operational processes which is aimed at evaluating automation potentials in the context of feasibility assessment and, thus, at enabling an investment decision regarding the digitalisation of processes.

Our client had developed an innovative system for electronic fare management, which it wished to have tested in practice. In addition, the acceptance of the company was necessary as well as funding. SCI Verkehr took part in the project and assisted the client in quickly satisfying the necessary requirements for using the system in commercial operation.

On behalf of an international transport company, SCI Verkehr took on the management of a project entailing reorganising the sales department. The project is aimed at developing a uniform sales organisation as well as professionalising the public image.
