To support the internal strategic planning of a vehicle maintenance company active across Europe, SCI Verkehr analysed the German market for vehicle construction and maintenance. The research served as the decision-making basis for the internal strategic process and identifying potential projects. The comprehensive results concerning vehicle fleets, refurbishment projects, commuter rail tenders, operators and active workshops were processed with the aid of the SCI railway technology database.
Customer: International leasing company
On behalf of an international leasing company, SCI Verkehr created an overview of all short-distance passenger rail transport tenders in Germany between 2016 and 2025, which is updated regularly. Besides framework data of the tenders, the overview also includes relevant information about operated fleets, such as vehicle type and year of manufacture. The analysis is based on the SCI DATABASE where all short-distance passenger rail transport tenders in Germany are compiled systematically.
Customer: Regional rail transport authority
On behalf of a commissioning authority for regional rail transport, SCI Verkehr developed a brief appraisal for the service life of double-deck electric multiple units in regional rail transport. For this appraisal, SCI Verkehr took into account technical, functional and market-based criteria.

On behalf of an investor, SCI Verkehr evaluates a fleet of new electric locomotives using the cost-based RC method. The appraisal is completed by an asset assessment, a market analysis and a value progression taking into account maintenance expenses.
Customer: Leasing company
As part of a financing of a leasing portfolio, SCI Verkehr evaluates the value of the total vehicle fleet of a leasing company. This was based on an individual evaluation of the various vehicle types, their operability and marketability.
Customer: Hans Boeckler Foundation
SCI Verkehr presents corporate strategies for outsourcing and relocation abroad. The study also draws upon experience from other reference industries. SCI Verkehr is examining and compiling a list of realised and prospective outsourcing measures in the rail industry in Germany on the basis of a company survey. The results of the report are presented in the form of a presentation and are accessible to the public.

Changes in the client?s product and packaging mix led to an open discussion about the site structure in both production and logistics. Not only the future scale and location of the sites were up for discussion, but also the issue of the function of individual areas of production and logistics. SCI Verkehr hosted the dialogue between the employees and employer on these matters and incorporated its experience in supporting site changes into the discussion process.

In the context of restructuring, a global enterprise in the food industry intends to close a logistics site and several production sites in Germany as well as to reorganise further core departments.
