SCI Verkehr supported a leasing company in a refinancing process and prepared a comprehensive report with a market and competition analysis for this purpose. A special focus was placed on the analysis of the marketability of the assets, taking into account new technologies and environmental guidelines.

On behalf of a leasing company, SCI Verkehr analysed the market development and the demand for new electric locomotives in continental Europe as a basis for an investment decision. The development of ETCS in Europe, infrastructural development and procurements by leasing companies were taken into account for this analysis.

Commercial Due Diligence for freight transport sector SCI Verkehr supported a financial investor by performing a Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) in the freight transport sector. A full CDD report was prepared, in which locomotives as well as assets and relevant markets were considered.

On behalf of an international component supplier, SCI Verkehr analyses the worldwide market for rolling stock. The focus lies on the production sites of the rail vehicles, the development of a forecast for future years, as well as an analysis of the European wheel market.

On behalf of a worldwide active electrical engineering group, SCI Verkehr analysed the German regional rail transport market and the corresponding tenders to identify and derive concrete refurbishment and modernisation projects of regional rail cars.

On behalf of a consultancy company, SCI Verkehr analyses projects of rail vehicles in the Asian market. The data is generated from the SCI database and made available in a structured evaluation list.
Customer: International bank
On behalf of a refinancing bank, SCI Verkehr determined the current value of a rail freight fleet. The value assessment of these vehicles, which are operated on the Iberian peninsula, was based on the cost-based DRC assessment approach, and considered the results of a supply and demand analysis for locomotives and freight wagons.

On behalf of a financing bank, SCI Verkehr continuously assesses a fleet of electric multiple units. Focus is put on performed maintenance and repair work as well the condition of the vehicles.

In the run-up to a financing of modern intermodal wagons, SCI Verkehr carried out a short appraisal with asset descriptions and a valuation of the demand and supply situation. The expected market values were determined based on a DRC method.
Customer: Ministerium für Wirtschaft und Mittelstand, Energie und Verkehr des Landes NRW (The Ministry for Economy and Small Business, Energy and Traffic of State North Rhine-Westphalia)
Preparation of subject matter, management, and follow-up of the delegation journey of the Minister for Economy and Small Business, Energy and Traffic of State North Rhine-Westphalia, Herr Ernst Schwanhold, to Bulgaria. Main components were the acquisition of about 30 companies from the transportation field in North Rhine Westphalia, the research into, the processing and presentation of the market environment in Bulgaria for the NRW enterprises, the identification of demand in Bulgaria and NRW, plus the concept development and management of a co-operation exchange for in total 90 companies from Bulgaria and NRW.

In the future, air freight services will be provided more and more as complex logistical solutions within the scope of contracted logistics projects. For sites located near international airports this offers the opportunity for new settlements and therefore to generate new jobs. On behalf of a company for economic development SCI Verkehr GmbH is investigating the possibilities for bringing contracted logistics projects relating to air freight to the site. For the initial review of the situation SCI Verkehr carried out interviews with the leading providers of air freight services in Germany. From this review we will develop a strategy for the next steps for the company for economic development.

SCI Verkehr supports a leading railway operator in the conceptual reorganisation of essential parts of rail freight transport. For this purpose, available concepts are reviewed and new approaches to advancing this field of business are developed and evaluated. It is aimed at achieving higher efficiency in this segment by reorganising responsibilities and processes in production and sales.
Customer: Hamm Society for the Promotion of Economic Development
In the context of the eastern Ruhr district?s ?Initiatve Logistik,? the Hamm, Unna and Dortmund Societies for the Promotion of Economic Development are planning a model project for the development of a logistics competence center called ?InLog.? Within this competence center, the service areas of companies interested in settling in the area would be combined. A feasibility study outlined company services in concrete terms and examined inter-community hosting possibilities as and well as potential private sector participation. In addition, the study determined sensible legal- and corporate models, including a cost estimate and funding possibilities. It also proposed a master plan for the realisation of the project.
Customer: Medium-sized forwarding company
A medium-sized forwarding company is planning to extend its existing railways siding and to improve it by setting up a handling hall. In order to construct these facilities, the company will seek governmental subsidies from the sidings track support programme of the Federal Republic of Germany. SCI Verkehr was commissioned to take a leading part in supporting the company´s application.

The commissioning railway company active in European rail freight transport is in an economically strained situation with clearly decreasing market shares, declining transport services and unsatisfactory performance. Defined objectives of the company are to increase production stability, reorganise operations of sales and production as well as increasing productivity and economic improvement of selected areas of operation. SCI Verkehr was commissioned to monitor and accompany the process as expert consultant.

Analysis of the daily operational processes in trans-shipping facilities and in administrative areas. Direct support in the implementation of suggestions for improvement of daily operations.
Customer: Global player in the food industry
Changes in the client?s product and packaging mix led to an open discussion about the site structure in both production and logistics. Not only the future scale and location of the sites were up for discussion, but also the issue of the function of individual areas of production and logistics. SCI Verkehr hosted the dialogue between the employees and employer on these matters and incorporated its experience in supporting site changes into the discussion process.
