Current value appraisal for used freight transport locomotives

Customer: International banking house

On behalf of an international banking house, SCI Verkehr rendered an expert opinion for electric freight transport locomotives intended for operation in Germany and France and compiled a current value appraisal. In addition to a technical appraisal of the vehicles, SCI Verkehr analysed the maintenance concept and the definition of key figures to determine penalties in the event of excessive wear on the vehicles.

Discounted future earnings valuation of six-axle diesel locomotives

For the refinancing of heavy diesel locomotives, SCI Verkehr developed a discounted future earnings valuation. The current replacement value of the locomotives which are in operation in central Europe was determined by a DCF calculation with special attention to the demand and supply situation.

Railway safety may not represent the same level of priority for every user. The study investigates whether or not current guidelines are sufficient. More specifically, it looks at the degree to which set rules can ensure a high safety standard in light of the conditions in a liberalized market. The study should show that a high safety and quality standard can help prevent competitive disadvantages for EVU, thus helping preserve and sustain the system railway?s position in the transport market.

The works committee and logistics management of a global player in the food industry intended to initiate an open dialogue about the future optimisation of logistical processes with external support. By conducting talks with both sides, SCI Verkehr prepared the dialogue, hosted the meetings of a joint working group and provided specialist input with the aim of developing a common perception of the logistical future of the company.
