Moreover, a business plan based on the management´s assumptions about future developments was checked. For this purpose, the management´s expectations were compared with SCI Verkehr´ s independently compiled market analyses to verify the assumptions.

On behalf of a financing bank, SCI Verkehr developed an overview of the developments and drivers of the market for rail freight transport in the UK. A special emphasis was placed on the structure and the future development of the transports and the vehicles operated.

In this context, value-over-time, market assessments and reuse probabilities at home and abroad are reviewed. On behalf of an international leasing company for rail vehicles, SCI Verkehr determined the value of a large fleet of locomotives and passenger vehicles. The valuation took into account the cost-based DRC valuation approach and the income-based DCF approach. SCI Verkehr also prepared a comprehensive supply and demand analysis.

On behalf of a rolling stock owner, SCI Verkehr determined the current value of a rail freight fleet. The value assessment of these vehicles, which are operated on the Iberian peninsula, was based on the cost-based DRC approach, and considered the results of a supply and demand analysis for locomotives and freight wagons.

The German railway network can be used by all certified railway companies. Many companies within and outside of Germany frequently take advantage of this right. Railway safety may not represent the same level of priority for every user. The study investigates whether or not current guidelines are sufficient. More specifically, it looks at the degree to which set rules can ensure a high safety standard in light of the conditions in a liberalized market. The study should show that a high safety and quality standard can help prevent competitive disadvantages for EVU, thus helping preserve and sustain the system railway?s position in the transport market.

The social partner project Nordrhein-Westfälische ErnährungsWirtschaft e.V. (NEW.S) commissioned SCI Verkehr to develop a "logistics report for the food industry in NRW" last year. This includes a number of optimisation approaches and recommendations for action, which reflect the complexity of the demands on logistics in the food industry. With the series of workshops ?Optimisation in Logistics? the client wants to encourage the detailed discussion of proposed optimisation approaches and solutions. SCI Verkehr is taking over the preparation of the entire content and managing the workshop series ?Optimisation in Logistics?. This includes developing the concept, detailed planning, acquiring speakers and press relations.

A Dutch logistics group is interested in setting up a terminal for road/rail transfer. The terminal focuses on seaport hinterland traffic of North Sea ports. SCI Verkehr was tasked with testing the feasibility in cooperation with partners (with special regard to rail connectivity) and working out a grant application according to the intermodal transport guidelines

The European liberalisation of railway traffic allows the utilisation of the infrastructure by private railway transportation enterprises also across national borders. However, as opposed to the state railways, the regional railways cannot make use of the simplified common shipping procedure but are subject to the regulating procedures of the common / community shipping procedure. With this report a recommendation was developed for procedural management under the existing conditions.
