SCI Verkehr is conducting an analysis of the structure and development of the railway technology markets in the Asian region, taking into consideration transport policy factors. The study includes an overview of all product segments in the railway technology market, subdivided into railway infrastructure, systems technology and rolling stock. The study presents the current developments and trends in the Asian railway market as well as concrete information on all stocks, drivers of development, procurements and market volumes in OEM business and the after-sales sector. There are separate analyses of the leading markets China, India, Japan and South Korea. The presentation is rounded off with an evaluation of the leading providers and their market shares as well as an overview of upcoming projects.

On behalf of a European rail vehicle manufacturer, SCI Verkehr analyses the purchase price development of modern locomotives in Europe. Price points derived from public sources serve as the basis for evaluation - continuously updated and processed in the SCI/DATABASE.

On behalf of an investor, SCI Verkehr valued a fleet of modern used tank, intermodal and bulk wagons. The valuation of the wagons according to DCF and DRC methodology took into account the wagon-specific supply and demand situation.

SCI Verkehr calculated the fair value of a diesel multiple unit (DMU) on behalf of a transport operator. The value was determined using the cost approach for tangible assets (DRC method). For this purpose, a benchmark was carried out to determine a current replacement value and an analysis of market potential for DMU.

SCI Verkehr determines the current and future market value of electric and diesel multiple units to be operated in the German short-distance passenger rail transport market. Special focus is put on analysing the expected useful life and long-term options for re-use.

Comparison of specific cost types to those of other commuter rail systems in Germany by means of defined, meaningful benchmarks. Identification of cost reduction potentials, possible ways ans implications of their realisation. Support to the client in the design of the transport service contract. Coordination of a joint negotiation strategy and participation in the trials. Survey of arguments and recommendations to the client.

Since the foundation of the LOG-IT Club e.V. in November 2002, SCI Verkehr has conducted the business of the association. This includes the support of the association committees, account management, budgetary control and acceptance of new members.

On behalf of national and regional authorities, SCI Verkehr examined the new development and upgrading of a testing centre for rolling stock and infrastructure components in an EU country. This primarily involved the analysis of future test requirements and test potential as well as transferring this information into a technical/economical analysis to identify the optimum upgrade level for the current volume of funding.

SCI Verkehr GmbH supported the client as a professional expert in close consultation with management. We reviewed the measures developed, compiled alternative scenarios and provided professional support in the negotiations.

An application for funding by a midsized intermodal terminal operator was rejected by the authorisation authority responsible. SCI Verkehr advised the client on all important aspects of the upcoming appeal proceedings and prepared the reasoning for the appeal. Furthermore, in order to develop a strategy with optimum chances of success, SCI Verkehr gathered additional information on the chances of success of the proceedings and on the optimum course of action by means of background discussions in political circles.
