For the issuing of a railway fund, SCI Verkehr analysed market prices, rental rates and asset values of a potential vehicle pool for new and used diesel locomotives on behalf of an international financing company. The analysis was made with the aid of a valuation approach which combines market and technical influence factors and in doing so takes into consideration the reutilisation of the vehicles.

Leasing fleet valuation update

On behalf of a European leasing company, SCI Verkehr assessed the entire fleet comprising diesel and electric mainline locomotives as well as shunting locomotives and multiple units. The valuation was conducted by means of IVS 2020 (International Valuation Standards) the cost-based DRC approach and the income-based DCF approach taking into account the current market situation.

Valuation of dual-mode locomotive fleet

On behalf of a leasing company, SCI Verkehr evaluated the market environment and the possible applications for dual-mode locomotives. Both flexible application possibilities due to the dual-mode drive (electric or diesel engine) and the respective application advantages of four and six-axle locomotives were examined in more detail.

A global player in the beverage industry is looking to optimise its logistics processes at a combined production and logistics site in Baden-Württemberg. SCI Verkehr was commissioned to re-work storage processes and logistics interfaces with other divisions such as production, distribution and sales in a collaboration with the management, works committee and employees, and to document the results afterwards.

Customer: Global player in the food industry

With the objective of realising rationalisation potential in distribution and warehousing, our client planned to consolidate three logistics sites into one central location near to production. In order to achieve this, the existing logistics site had to be restored using construction measures. SCI Verkehr as a neutral expert was involved in the decision-making process with regard to necessary investments and performed a cross checking of assumptions and calculations made. The expert's report focused on the personnel and investments required.
