A company in the food industry is aiming for standardising organisational structures of its German production sites. SCI Verkehr accompanies the discussion process between management and employee representatives and provides input with regards to designing concepts of positions (organization chart, positional designations) as well as concerning the development of tasks and responsibilities for the new positions.

For the purpose of assessing options for entering the long-distance rail market, SCI Verkehr analysed various routes, competitive scenarios and operating concepts in the Italian market and evaluated them with regard to their revenue opportunities.
Customer: System manufacturer/Railway industry
Analysis of the structures and conditions of the German vehicle market, in particular with a view on regional vehicle and LRV segments. Development of a prognosis for market condition prospects. Elaboration of strategic references and recommended actions for the further development of the market.
Customer: Leasing company
On behalf of a leasing company, SCI Verkehr evaluated current and future demand for freight wagons to transport coal. The focus was set on the long-term estimation of the development of the energy mix in central Europe and its impact on the demand for coal wagons. In addition, SCI Verkehr evaluated current prices and leasing rates for coal wagons.
Customer: Freight wagon rental company
This project analysed how the capacities of European freight wagon manufacturers will change in the years 2008 to 2010. It presented a comparison of European capacities and the current order situation for freight wagons.
Customer: Workshop service provider
On behalf of a workshop service provider, SCI Verkehr, together with a partner, prepares a real estate valuation of a workshop for rail passenger transport and analyses the workshop´s offer as well as the market situation in the catchment area. In addition, a risk analysis is carried out in the event of a failure of the workshop service provider or its customer.

Analysis of existing models for financing rail vehicles amongst other in connection with the reorganisation of the RPST following the railway reform; economics and legal feasibility of new financing models.
Customer: leasing company
On behalf of a European leasing company, SCI Verkehr valued an extensive portfolio of freight transport and passenger transport vehicles. The DCF valuation was carried out according to the IVS standard (2020). SCI Verkehr presented the valuation results to the client´s management during an on-site meeting.
Customer: Hamm Society for the Promotion of Economic Development
In the context of the eastern Ruhr district?s ?Initiatve Logistik,? the Hamm, Unna and Dortmund Societies for the Promotion of Economic Development are planning a model project for the development of a logistics competence center called ?InLog.? Within this competence center, the service areas of companies interested in settling in the area would be combined. A feasibility study outlined company services in concrete terms and examined inter-community hosting possibilities as and well as potential private sector participation. In addition, the study determined sensible legal- and corporate models, including a cost estimate and funding possibilities. It also proposed a master plan for the realisation of the project.
Customer: Hans Boeckler Foundation
Within the scope of the research project of the Hans Boeckler Foundation, SCI Verkehr GmbH is analysing the impact of internationalisation on the prospects of the medium-sized railway industry in Germany. The focus is set on Eastern Europe. Using three case studies, potential changes in value creation structures will be presented and innovation requirements from the point view of the supply industry will be analysed and assessed. The report is going to be presented in the scope of a congress towards the end of 2007.
Customer: Logistics initiative Hamburg
Since 2009, SCI Verkehr GmbH has carried out an annual survey of the members of the logistics initiative group "Logistikinitiative Hamburg" regarding the economic development of the logistics market in Hamburg. The data collected is then compared with the SCI/Logistics Barometer and therefore put in a national context. In 2015, members were surveyed again. The results were presented as part of the initiative members'€™ meeting.
Customer: Industrial company
An industrial wasteland in the centre of the Ruhr Valley is the subject of plans for new industrial and/or logistical development. With regard to marketing the areas, it has to be decided whether to keep the existing private siding and, if so, in what form. SCI Verkehr has derived a railway-related development concept based on the relevant technical, legal and economical factors. It includes various different strategies for the detailed conversion of the area needed to best meet the requirements of the (still unknown) companies wishing to locate in the area, the sequence of the development stages, costs and revenues from construction and operation and how these would be distributed between involved parties. With the aid of well-founded/backed up documents, SCI Verkehr has been able to accompany the entire decision process regarding the dismantling or keeping of the private siding.
Customer: International transport company
On behalf of an international transport company, SCI Verkehr took on the management of a project entailing reorganising the sales department. The project is aimed at developing a uniform sales organisation as well as professionalising the public image. SCI Verkehr supports the customer in organising the project and in terms of content-related sparring.

A railway transport company is submitting a bid for a transport tender in northern Germany with the aim of making an attractive, innovative and cost-efficient offer for railway transport. The main contents include conception and technical support, editorial support as well as operative and organisational support.
Customer: Global player in the beverage industry
A global player in the beverage industry is looking to optimise its logistics processes at a combined production and logistics site in Baden-Württemberg. SCI Verkehr was commissioned to re-work storage processes and logistics interfaces with other divisions such as production, distribution and sales in a collaboration with the management, works committee and employees, and to document the results afterwards.
