A leasing company examines equipping multisystem locomotives with ETCS. SCI Verkehr prepares a basis for decision-making by means of valuating earnings, costs and risks as well as an independent assessment of the estimated costs for rebuilding.

SCI Verkehr prepares detailed data on fleets for a customer in need of information regarding operated rolling stock in Europe.
Customer: International bank
On behalf of a refinancing bank, SCI Verkehr ascertains the current vehicle value of a rail freight fleet. Value assessment of these vehicles operated on the Iberian Peninsula is built on the cost-based DRC assessment approach and considers results of a supply and demand analysis of locomotives and freight wagons.
Customer: Leasing company
On behalf of an investor active in the rail car leasing segment, SCI Verkehr carried out a periodic analysis of the expected leasing income of the entire vehicle portfolio. Based on fleet structure and the expected market demand, leasing income and vehicle downtime were evaluated. These results were used as a basis for assessing earning opportunities and developing a business plan.

SCI Verkehr accompanied an internationally operating investment company in the financing of modern diesel shunting locomotives as part of a follow-up project. In addition to an extensive asset benchmark market, SCI Verkehr analysed the environmental compatibility of the modern assets with regard to the existing fleet to be replaced. This included interviews with experts.

In April 2018, the competence-net Logistics.NRW was launched as innovation and partner network of the state of NRW. Activities of the network are directed at the subject areas of innovation and digitalisation in particular. On behalf of LOG-IT Club eV., SCI Verkehr, in close cooperation with the alliance of transport economics and logistics, organises all specialist and organisational activities related to continuous networking.

A terminal for combined transport in a German domestic port was to be rehabilitated and extended. SCI Verkehr prepared the application for public funding. The need for the measure was justified, competition to other terminals and economic efficiency analysed. In addition, SCI Verkehr attended the following procedure of approval and allocation of public funding.

Since 2004, the social partner project Nordrhein-Westfälische ErnährungsWirtschaft e.V. (NEW.S) has been leading a continuous discussion of important logistics issues in the sector. For this reason SCI Verkehr GmbH has developed a series of workshops called ?optimisation in the logistics sector? with company representatives. For two further workshops in the spring of 2007, SCI Verkehr is taking over the entire content preparation and management. This includes concept development, detailed planning, acquiring speakers and the presentation of the workshops.

On behalf of an investor, SCI Verkehr is analysing the market potential for (cross-border) intercity connections in Europe. In addition to evaluating routes with regard to a possible shift of short-haul flights to rail, SCI Verkehr also compares possible vehicle concepts with regard to their investment costs and performance parameters.

SCI Verkehr assists the works council of a large food / logistics company in the assessment and analysis of structural measures by the company and supports the development of alternative (logistics) concepts.
