Customer: International credit institute
The market for rolling stock operating leasing has seen significant growth over the past years. Against this backdrop, SCI Verkehr analysed the demand for operating leasing for locomotives, multiple units and wagon trains in selected European countries. The forecast up to the year 2015 was performed within the context of railway-specific influencing factors such as transport development, fleet structure and procurement plans as well as the increasing importance of private railway companies as customers for operating leasing. These dynamics in rail freight transport are being driven by the opening up of the European railway network and associated short-term contracts. In regional rail transport as well, increasing competition for transport services and contract durations which are shorter than the life-cycle of a vehicle are leading to growing demand.

Rolling stock of the considered fleet is operated in Continental Europe and the UK.
