SCI Verkehr supported an international railway technology group in the further development of its long-term strategy in the signalling technology segment. Commercial Due Diligence for freight transport sector SCI Verkehr supported a financial investor by performing a Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) in the freight transport sector. A full CDD report was prepared, in which locomotives as well as assets and relevant markets were considered.

On behalf of a globally active component manufacturer, SCI Verkehr analyses the worldwide market for gangways (as rolling stock component). For this purpose, market size and development as well as the competitive situation are examined in more detail.

SCI Verkehr prepared an annual fleet valuation for single, multi-system and dual-mode locomotives for a European locomotive lessor. An income-based valuation approach was chosen for the valuation.
Customer: European freight wagon lessor
SCI Verkehr carried out an annual assessment update for a European freight wagon fleet (intermodal wagons). It was assessed on the basis of the IVS 2020 standards.

SCI Verkehr evaluated modern electric locomotives for the Eastern European market for an operator on the basis of the cost-oriented DRC approach. One focus was on maintenance and its influence on the value progression.

In autumn 2015, LogistikCluster NRW entered a new phase. The cluster's activities will focus even more intensively on the topics of growth, innovation and digitalisation. SCI Verkehr organises all technical and organisational activities for the LOG-IT Club e.V. in close cooperation with the Association of the Transport Industry and Logistics.

Within the scope of the Dortmund project, the Dortmund Economic Development Corporation has identified the logistics sector as one of the most important up-and-coming markets in the city. For this reason a cluster manager was appointed who is responsible for maintaining stocks and the relocations of logistics-related industry. Through contacts in Korea, a delegation of the Korean International Logistics Council was encouraged to come to Dortmund. Within the scope of this visit, SCI Verkehr is developing a specialist event on the subject of the ?logistics market Korea? and is responsible for the entire event management, the selection of speakers, inviting sector specialists and hosting the event in Dortmund.

SCI Verkehr evaluated the economic feasibility of the selected bids for a public transport authority in the context of a procurement of new urban transport vehicles. For this purpose, SCI Verkehr evaluated the bid documents and carried out a price benchmark to determine the usual market prices of metro vehicles.

SCI Verkehr has carried out a workshop on ECM services with a leading maintenance company for rail vehicles. Different business models were discussed and the company´s business plan was reviewed.

SCI Verkehr is considering possible optimisation potentials in rail vehicle maintenance on behalf of a railway transport company. The focus of the project is on improving the employment of human resources. This is to be achieved by, among other things, increasing the vertical range of manufacturing, "make or buy" decisions and extending the existing range of activities of the staff. In addition, the expansion of the company?s activities is also analysed, for example, through the implementation of a vehicle leasing or rental business and its effects on employment.

In the process, all relevant internal and external factors for all forms of production in rail freight transport are examined and subjected to a strategic review.
