Worldwide Suppliers of Rail Infrastructure 2008/2009 In the first Multi Client Study on the worldwide supplier landscape for rail infrastructure, SCI Verkehr GmbH analyses around 200 of the most important manufacturers and trading companies. We explore the products, structures, competitors, market shares and key company figures. The leading companies which have the most sites or largest production capacities, employ the most staff, generate the highest turnovers or represent the latest innovations, operate at more than 400 sites and make up one third of the market volume. We present a detailed portrait for each of these companies in a fact sheet. Top ten rankings name the market leaders in the fields of track systems, electrification and control command and signalling, as well as overall. In detailed analyses of six core rail infrastructure products (rails, elastic rail fastenings, switches and crossings, sleepers, catenary wire for overhead lines, ETCS/ERTMS), the top three suppliers, the market structures, competitive relationships and critical success factors are presented. All suppliers analysed are listed in the annexes to the study with their names, addresses and contact details. Planning offices, construction companies, financial services providers, operators and owners of rail networks have been included, if these themselves manufacture and/or distribute products for track systems, electrification and/or control command and signalling. Among the 200 market players are those that specialise heavily in rail technology, as well as those that only dedicate a small portion of their activities to this sector.
